The case with inverted bell top with brass DQ handle, sound frets above the breakarch glazed side panels and above the front door, on block feet, the dial with gilt cherub mask lower spandrels and flanking a silvered selection ring in the arch for WHITTINGTON WESTMINSTER/WINCHESTER, with subsidiary slow/fast and chime/silent rings below, silvered chapter ring, inscribed MADE IN ENGLAND below VI, the matted centre appplied with an oval plaque with retail signature Garrard, black painted hands, the triple wire fusee movement with platform escapement, quarter-chiming on eight nested bells and with hour strike on further bell, automatic cut-off facility between 11.00pm and 7.00am, signed on the back plate Elliott London and numbered 95/250 -- 15¾ in. in. (40 cm.) high, handle down, the bracket -- 7½ in. (19 cm.) high
