MARK OF FREDERICK ELKINGTON, BIRMINGHAM, 1874,
In the Chinese manner, the frosted surfaces with narrow applied bands above floral sprays chased in relief & imitating an Oriental mixed-metal effect, angular handles with key-fret decoration, the handles & spouts decorated at their junctions with cloud motifs, on key-fret foot, teapot with flame finial, gilt interiors to sugar bowl & cream jug, also an associated pair of sugar tongs by Susan Whitaker, London, 1875, in original fitted box, 31.25 oz.
