PROBABLY FROM THE CALVERT WORKSHOP, CIRCA 1840
The kings with urn-shaped finials, the queens with ball-knop finials, bishops with split mitres, knights as horses' heads, all on baluster knopped stems, the rooks as turrets, re-stained green
The king -- 3 1/8in. (8cm.) high; the pawn -- 1¾in. (4.5cm.) high
