AN INTERESTING AND VARIED RANGE OF FINE BURGUNDY DIRECTLY FROM THE CELLARS OF THE GROUPEMENT D'ETUDE ET DE SUIVI DES TERROIRS (G.E.S.T.)
Lying in Twickenham, Middlesex (EHD)

GEST (which transalates as Group for the Examination and Study of Terroir) is an association which was created in 1995 by more than 100 winegrowers, interested in exploring new ways of managing the vineyards and the soils in a sustainable and highly qualitiative way.
The main objectives of GEST are to share knowledge and to fund research as to better understand what a "terroir" is, how it works and how to better express in the wine the inherent character of the soil. Of course, the recommended techniques are soil-preserving and environmentally friendly.
Until today, the group's action has mostly been focused on soil understanding and management. Without forgetting the prime objective - which is to constantly upgrade the techniques and knowledge to ensure the production of genuine, natural fine wine - the members of GEST want to innovate, and think in a more comprehensive way.
GEST is developing a programme of bio fuels from organically produced sunflowers, which will be used by Gest's members in their tractors and is set to sign a partnership with the Agro Science Reserarch Unit of Dijon University as to find solution to some of the serious diseases that affect the vineyards. Thanks to the partnership and support of the Compangnie de Financement Foncier, the Caisse d'Epargne de Bourgogne Franche-Comté and the IXIS CIB, GEST now has the means to carry out its objectives.

The following lots 1 to 67 have all been donated by the respective Domaines, members of G.E.S.T. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund further research and development for the Groupement
