AN EARLY BYZANTINE BRONZE MAGICAL AMULET
CIRCA 5TH-7TH CENTURY A.D., EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN
The double-sided amulet with suspension loop above, obverse with a six line Greek inscription above the figure of Solomon mounted on a horse, lance raised at the demon Lilith lying below, around the scene a Greek inscription reads "the only god who defeats evil", the reverse with six line Greek inscription above the scene of a quadruped and a crocodile(?) each holding the tail of the other, surrounded by circular Greek inscription, an eagle(?), snake and double cross in the field
