On short foot, the white interior with a very bold broad manganese black kufic inscription around the sides, the centre with a small black dot, the exterior plain

Lot Essay

The inscription reads baraka wa ni'ma (?) li-sahibihi (Blessing and Grace (of God) to its owner).

Two dishes of flatter form but with almost identical inscription and layout were sold at Sotheby's, 30 April 2003, lot 58, and 13 October 2004, lot 68.
