A 19th-Century English 3-inch diameter terrestrial globe,
with an overlaid cartouche NEW TERRESTRIAL GLOBE. Adapted from the LATEST AND MOST AUTHENTIC SOURCES 1851, made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores, with Meridian of Greenwich and graduated equatorial, ecliptic and meridian at 180°, the continents with national boundaries, cities, rivers, lakes and deserts, mounted in an unengraved brass meridian half-circle atop a mahogany baluster column and circular base -- 15cm. (5 7/8in.) high
