A RARE LATE MING BLUE AND WHITE 'FROG' KENDI
WANLI (1573-1619)
The body naturalistically modelled as a recumbent frog with a small cylindrical spout issuing from its mouth, painted with flower-heads on a seeded ground below a band of overlapping ruyi-heads around the base of the tall cylindrical neck, which is decorated with a bird perched on a blossoming prunus tree
