A LARGE FAMILLE VERTE DEEP BOWL
KANGXI (1662-1722)
Moulded above the foot with a band of upright lotus petals below spiralling panels rising to the foliate rim, brilliantly enamelled in the interior and on the exterior with a few details picked out in gilt, the centre of the interior with two pheasants amongst tree peony and rockwork, the steep sides with colourful birds in flight and perched on flowering and fruiting prunus, peach, cherry and pomegranate branches below a band of spiralling composite panels at the rim, the exterior with mythical beasts, exotic birds, insects and flowering plants within the petal-shaped panels and a variety of brightly-coloured flowering shrubs within the spiralling panels, the base with an underglaze blue encircled seal mark
