A LARGE EXPORT ARMORIAL DISH
CIRCA 1740
Decorated primarily in grisaille, iron-red and gilt with the coat-of-arms and crest for Vernon impaling Purnell, within a band of gilt scrolling foliage in the well and an unusual border of stylised flowers and foliage descending from a narrow gilt line at the rim
15¼ in. (38.8 cm.) diam.
