The fall enclosing a tooled writing surface and four sliding trays, fitted with two slides below and enclosed by a pair of panelled doors, on a plinth base, stamped twice 'Wright & Mansfield' and stamped '4633'

Lot Essay

Wright & Mansfield were one of the leading retailers and interior decorators of the late 19th century.Their work was shown extensively at the Great Exhibition of 1862 and the Paris Exposition of 1867.The company ceased trading in 1887.
