STURGE MOORE, T. (1870-1944) 'The Pearl'. Two autograph manuscript sonnets 'To Lady Ottoline Morrell after reading her memoirs', tied with green silk thread as an eight-page presentation booklet. The sonnets were later published in Sturge's The Known Unknown (1939). 1. 'Of those we tried to know whom have we known?' and 2. 'How rarely thus rich memories are shown!' With: autograph letter signed, to Ottoline Morrell [n.p., n.d.], 1 page, 8vo, explaining the sonnets and praising her memoirs, and autograph letter signed to Philip Morrell, 9 May 1938 (three weeks after Ottoline's death), 3.1pages 4to, discussing the delicate task of editing her memoirs ('a magnificent book might be made from this material') and the appointment of an editor.
