Lot Essay

The steel screw schooner Adriana was designed and built at Glasgow by A. & J. Inglis for Henry Bubb, Esq., in 1888. Registered at 228 tons gross (98 net and 322 Thames), Mr. Bubb kept her from new until 1909 when she was sold to the Cav. Pasquale Conforti of Naples. In 1912 she was resold to another Naples resident, Avv. Carlo Pinto, at which time she was renamed Tartarin.
