With their distinctive shaped legs and pierced friezes embellished by sober carving, these consoles are very fine examples of Venetian furniture of the mid-18th Century. A closely related console is illustrated in S. Levy, Il Mobile Veneziano del Settecento, Milan, 1964, pl.234. Most of these consoles have moulded wooden top, while only some of them have marble tops.
