Second edition of the first textbook for naval surgeons. This edition includes "the first edition of Woodall's collected works ... [which] was made required reading for all naval surgeons in the East India Company" (Garrison & Morton 2144 & 3177 (first edition)). The work also contains a full description of scurvy in which Woodall suggest the use of limejuice for the treatment of the illness.
