Sale room notice
The building visible to the right of the picture behind the colonnade is the White Hart Inn. This was one of the city's major hotels. It was a venue for meetings and balls and as a departure point for coaches to many places in Southampton and Birmingham. It was demolished in 1869.
Lot Essay
Thomas Baldwin (circa 1750-1820) was one of the principal creators of Georgian Bath, including the Pump Rooms, 1789-99.
