MARK OF PAUL STORR, LONDON, 1801
Oblong with gadrooned rim, the cover with a cast crest finial, engraved with a crest on the inside of the dish and a coat-of-arms on the cover, marked on dish, cover and finial

The arms are those of Knatchbull with the cadency mark of a mullet for the third son, quartering Parry implaing Knatchbull, for Captain Charles Knatchbull R.N. (1747-1826) and his wife Frances (d.1818), daughter and eventual heir of Major Norton Knatchbull (1711-1786), uncle of Charles, whom he married in 1785. Charles' brother Wyndham also married a Knatchbull cousin, Catherine, daughter of Sir Edward Knatchbull 7th Bt. (1704-1789), however she predeceased her husband in 1807.
