The following four lots are the property of Neville Garrick, former Art Director to Bob Marley And The Wailers. Garrick first met Bob Marley whilst he was working at the Jamaica Daily News. One of his earliest assignments was to cover a Marvin Gaye concert at the Carib Theater in Kingston - the Wailers were the opening act and stole the show. After the concert, Garrick met Bob Marley for the first time and the two became firm friends, with Garrick leaving the Daily News soon after to work for the band full time. As Art Director, Garrick began by designing labels for Tuff Gong Records and went on to design many of the Wailers' album covers such as Exodus and Uprising. He was responsible for the backdrops that the band used on stage, which became an important way of spreading the band's beliefs in Rastafari. In addition, Garrick was the Lighting Director for the band's live shows and also joined in on percussion when the opportunity arose.
