No commissions of this composition were undertaken by Jacob de Wit either in the year 1732, or for a Mr. Abram van Mu(...). However, the composition can be compared to that of a picture in grisaille by de Wit, executed in 1752, in the Grauwtjes Museum, Kassel (A. Staring, Jacob de Wit 1695-1754, Amsterdam, 1958, p. 188, no. 39).
