Cyrillic E.B., St. Petersburg, circa 1770
Rectangular, realistically imitating a religious book on four bun feet, engraved on the base with the Imperial eagle bearing the cypher of Empress Catherine the Great, the front hinged cover depicting The Baptism of Christ, with chevron and foliate borders and chevron decoration to the gilt edged sides formed as pages and the spine, with St. Andrew crosses, the two hinged clasps engraved with seraph, the interior with three short and one long division, marked inside the base
