BOX: two-tier with observation panel to the upper section, inset with a brass diamond inscribed No.4840, external drop-down brass handles, oval brass escutcheon to double-throw lock, lock plate numbered 796, deep cylindrical brass bowl within oval gimbal; box key
DIAL: French dead silvered and signed Breguet Neveu & Cie. No.4840, with subsidiary rings for hours/minutes and seconds, all hands of blued steel
MOVEMENT: four pinned pillars, top plate numbered 4840, single going barrel wound through the bottom of the bowl
ESCAPEMENT: Earnshaw type on elliptical platform, pivoted detent with metal locking pallet, cut bimetallic balance with peripheral screws, oversprung blued steel helical balance spring with three leg adjusting assembly; un-numbered replacement double-ended winding key, Breguet certificate (1985)
