The case modelled with two explorers, one holding a terrestrial globe in his hand whilst leaning on a telescope, the other with one hand on his dagger and the other holding a rudder, the dial with white enamel Roman chapter ring, blued steel Breguet hands, the recessed centre with unusual visible dead beat escapement with raked escape wheel teeth and signed LD SAPIN/PARIS, spring barrel with double pendulum above; formerly on plinth
