A PAIR OF NORTH ITALIAN CRANE-NECK ROWEL SPURS OF CHISELLED IRON
Early 17th Century
Each with down-curved heel-band with chiselled rosette terminals, the outer carrying a buckle, the base of the neck formed as a series of four monster's heads cut in high relief, the heel-band and outer neck decorated with a series of chiselled cavalrymen and small grotesque masks, and each fitted with five-point rowel cut with leaf ornament.
