A FRENCH ALL-METAL PRIMING-FLASK COMBINED WITH A WHEEL-LOCK SPANNER
Circa 1600
In excavated condition, with brass body decorated throughout with panels of scrolling foliage inlaid in brass fine wire, the top with three apertures for fitting a wheel-lock spindle, each decorated with fleur-de-lys, and fitted with later iron cap.

Lot Essay

The inlaid designs closely resemble those published by Thomas Picquot in Paris in 1638.
