A TURKISH SILVER COVERED CUP,
PROBABLY 2ND HALF OF 19TH CENTURY,
The tulip-shaped bowl with undulating, beaded rim, engraved with flowers around a vacant reserve, the trumpet foot on six supports with pierced scrollwork cartouches between, domed cover engraved with trailing flowers capped with a peacock finial resting on a calyx of leaves, flowers & buds with a small bird dependent, the gilt interior fitted with three small pegs just below rim to hold cover in place, 9 in. high (23 cm.), 17 oz.
