A FRENCH SILVER-MOUNTED CLARET JUG,

The ovoid body with hob-nail & fluted decoration, the rocaille cover with finial modelled as a snail atop vine leaves, the neck mount decorated with leaves & scrolls, a central frieze pierced with scrolling foliage, two ribbon-tied, monogrammed oval cartouches & an applied female classical head to front, the base fluted & applied with floral swags above a pedestal foot with border of foliage & ovolo motifs, 14¼ in. high (36.2 cm.).
