Each with a rectangular padded seat upholstered in blue and beige fabric with foliate and geometrical pattern, on double C-scrolls legs carved with acanthus and cabochons on a hatched ground, each with a grey painted inventory inscription 'R', each with a grey and red metal inventory label, one with a blue-bordered paper label numbered '35'

A closely related pair of stools was exhibited in the Mostra del Barocco Piemontese, Turin, 1963, illustrated in the catalogue, plate 193, fig. a, while a pair of related parcel-gilt and painted stools was sold at Sotheby's, Milan, 21 October 2003, lot 390.
