The breakarch hood with inset columns and glazed side panels, with short trunk door and on short plinth, the 12 in. wide brass dial with engraved border, bird and urn spandrels to Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with bird and urn engraving, subsidiary seconds ring with engraving to its centre, date aperture, hands now black painted, signed on a convex disc in the arch Robert Flower/RETFORD, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; composite, dial and movement associated, 18th Century, case later -- 90 in.
