The swan neck hood with outset columns, the 12 in. wide engraved brass dial with spandrels engraved with floral sprigs and the tags: Hear Reader See/In Youth in Age or Prime; The Stealing Steps/Of never standing Time; Think what a Moment is/To he that Dies; With Wisdom mark/The Moment as it Flies, the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with inner twice XII ring also indicating NOON/EVENING/MIDNIGHT/MORNING at the quarter positions, signed JAMES COOK/HAMPTON, with revolving inner disc engraved with various locations around the world and their times relative to Hampton, with globe design to its centre, black painted hands, the arch engraved VENIOUTFUR (Veni Ut Fur; I come like a thief in the night) above an armorial with motto BE TRUE, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement, rack strike on back plate for bell above -- 80 in.
