The hood with swan neck cresting and outset reeded columns, conforming half columns to the trunk, parquetry star inlay to the trunk door and plinth, the 12 in. square brass dial now with convex disc to the arch bearing signature Rich.Rayment/St Edmunds/Bury, female mask spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with ringed winding holes, the eight day movement with five ringed pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, case last quarter 18th Century and associated to dial and movement, first quarter 18th Century and adapted -- 88½ in. (225 cm.) high; pendulum, two brass weights
