The formerly rising flat top hood also formerly with columns, the trunk door with panels of bird and flower marquetry and lenticle glass, the 11 in. square brass dial with engraving to the quarter points, cherub and coronet spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with elaborate sword hilt half hour markers and sword hilt half quarter hour markers, signed Tho Johnson Rattcliff Cross, matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring, ringed winding holes, engraving around the date aperture, black painted later hands, the eight day movement with five ringed pillars, anchor escapement and inside countwheel strike on bell, case with restorations and replacements -- 84 in. (213 cm.) high; pendulum, two brass weights
