An extremely fine exhibition standard 2in. scale model of a Burrell 5 n.h.p. double crank compound three-shaft, two speed Showman's Tractor,
built from works drawings by P. Penn-Sayers, with brazed copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, whistle, two injectors, water lift, clack, simpling and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinders ¾in. and 1¼in. bores x 1¼in. stroke, footplate-controlled draincocks and pipework, mechanical lubricator, valve spindle guides, bar-type crosshead guides, finely detailed big ends with bolted wedges and straps, Stephenson's link reverse, belt-driven pickering governor, two road speeds mounted outside the horn plates and disc flywheel. Chassis details include spoked, straked wheels with rubber tyres and brass hub caps, worm and roller chain steering, working leaf springs, belly and tender tanks with water lift and pipework, two injectors, whistle, footplate controlled damper, cable drum, cable and fair leads and full length planked and framed canvas-covered canopy mounted on twisted brass supports with onions. Further details include dummy smoke box mounted dynamo, flywheel brake, hand wheel-operated brakes to rear wheels with wooden brake blocks, safety valve extension pipes, tool boxes and many other fine details, finished in maroon, red, black and yellow with lining in gold leaf, red, yellow and black with polished brass decoration and etched plates, the canopy sideboards lettered: "CHAS BURRELL & SON LTD ENGINEERS, THETFORD, ENGLAND" -- 51 x 77.5cm.
