The serpentine shaped green Swedish marble top above three long crossbanded bombe-shaped drawers, the angles, apron and front feet headed by pierced ormolu rockwork mounts, with parquetry sides

Lot Essay

This commode can be related to the work of the Swedish furniture maker Lars Andersson Bolin. A comparable bombé commode is illustrated in Torsten Sylvén, Mästarnas Möbler , Stockholm, 1996, p. 70, and another, signed Friedrich Kruus, op.cit., p.218. A related commode was sold anonymously, Christie's, Amsterdam, 14-15 December 2004, lot 584.
