A Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer 'Chrysanthemum' box and cover, Qianlong
carved in the form of a chrysanthemum blossom, the cover with four fluted lappet registers enclosing foliate floral sprays reserved on a diaper ground, the box with two lappet registers enclosing Shou character roundels between floral sprays, supported on a lobed circular foot with a key-fret band, the interior and base black lacquered -- 7 1/8in. (18.1cm.) diam.
