A Chinese gilt-copper and enamel figure of Budai, 18th century
the seated figure with a laughing expression, holding in his right hand a beaded necklace, wearing around his exposed belly and chest a loose robe variously decorated with a full-faced five-clawed dragon amidst cloud scrolls, the bajixiang ('Eight Buddhistic Emblems'), classic scroll, key-fret, qutrefoil and foilate patterns -- 6 1/8in. (15.5cm.) high.
