A Japanese ivory okimono of a fan-maker, 19th Century
the figure seated before small work chests, where lies unpainted fans with a ready inkstone and brush, the figure holds high in his left hand a tapering square formed fan with a finished picture of a Bijin, red lacquer signature tablet to base - 3¼in. (8.3cm.) high, raised square wood stand with inlaid silver wire decoration.
