A Japanese ivory figure of a water carrier, 19th century
carved as a standing man looking sideways, wearing loose pantaloons, robes, a vest, a cap and geta sandals, carrying a double gourd water flask over his bent back, with a box and bucket suspended from his right arm over cylindrical vessels on the oval base, wood stand -- 5¼in. (13.3cm.) high.
