A Japanese ivory okimono of Jurojin, 19th century
the bearded figure carved looking down at a minogame tortoise at his feet, wearing long flowing robes tied at the waist with decorated with incised geometric patterns on the hem and the reverse waist cloth, the head covered with a long cloth incised with a honeycomb design, holding a scroll in his right hand and a fan in his left, inlaid red tablet with an incised mark, wood stand -- 5¾in. (14.6cm.) high.
