FIRST EDITION of this extensive cookery book containing 1030 receipts in 37 chapters, listing ways of cooking all kinds of meat, fish, vegetables, soup, fruit, eggs, salads, pies, cakes and desserts. The work also contains more unusual receipts, for example eleven different ways of preparing calves' feet, how to fry bear's paws or cook a bear in a sour sauce, and four different ways of cooking Italian bird nests.
