Lot Essay

One of the most important elements of a stupa, the yasti, represents the axis that connects heaven and earth. The circular umbrellas or chattris signify the supremacy of the whole structure, implying royalty and dignity, and also symbolizing the sacred Tree of Life or enlightenment.
