The front profusely carved with figures and foliage around a central circular medallion and two rectangular moulded panels, the hinged lid later painted on the underside with galleons in full sail with three roundels below, the central roundel depicting a shield supported by chimerae, the outer roundels each depicting a musician playing to an audience of animals and birds, and with two interior tills, the sides with iron handles and foliate border decoration, on a moulded plinth and later feet, losses and old damage
