Depicted facing right and wearing a buttoned-coat, in a Louis XVI style blue-painted and giltwood frame and inscribed 'SEVERE AUX ENEMIS MAIS POUR TOUT AUTRE HUMAIN SON COEUR EST DUN FRANCAIS SON AME DUN ROMAIN' and 'Chinard a lyon le 10 Termin...', the reverse with paper labels inscribed 'Collection Gabriel Cognacq', 'Vente Gabriel Coqnac 10 December 1952 no. 25 Vente du Comte de Penha-Longa 1er Dec 1911 Galerie Georges Petit...', '9477' and '10' twice and inscribed in black ink 'No. 2567' and '23...'
