AN EARLY VICTORIAN SILVER SALVER,
MARK OF JOHN S. HUNT FOR STORR & MORTIMER, LONDON, 1839,
Shaped circular with acanthus, reed & tie border, on four cast leafy scroll feet, centre flat-chased with scrolling foliage & leafy "wings" with pendent buds & "halo" motifs above, all around an armorial, 12 in. diameter (30.6 cm.), 34.25 oz.

Further details
In 1839 Storr & Mortimer became Mortimer & Hunt following Paul Storr's retirement on 31/12/1838.
The arms are for Baskerville impaling Burton for the marriage of Henry Baskerville (formerly Henry Viveash) of Crowsley Park, Binfield Heath, Oxon. to Mary Ann Burton of Cheltenham on 14/2/1839.
