The rectangular drop-in seat covered in pale pink and green flame stitch-pattern material, above a ribbon-and-stick carved frieze on stop-fluted tapering legs headed by paterae, and joined by fluted stretchers, on tapering vase feet, the frame and seat stamped 'WRIGHT AND MANSFIELD'
20 in. (51 cm.) high; 22¾ in. (58 cm.) wide; 16¼ in. (41 cm.) deep

Lot Essay

Henry, 13th Viscount Mountgarret, in 1844 married Frances Rawson of Nidd Hall, Yorkshire: it was from his wife's aunt that Lord Mountgarret inherited Nidd Hall and a fortune in 1891.
