The "Elongated Curved Tank" was launched by Cartier London in the late 1960s, its form derived from the Rectangular Tank JJC model.
The present watch is the medium version of the model, in addition fitted with a highly unusual dial design omitting the distinctive inner "chemin de fer" or "railway" chapter ring. The Roman numerals are also finer than those of the Cartier Paris counterparts, hence rendering it a very unique look.
For examples of Cartier London Tank watches and a similar dial layout see Cartier - The Tank Watch by Franco Cologni, pp. 226 & 227.
