The funnel bowl engraved with the portrait in profile of Czarina Elisabeth Petrowna, the Eye of Providence and its rays of glory above, flanked by rocaille scrolls, banners, various musical instruments and military trophies, the rimd with a band of ovolos, the reverse with a crowned monogram, the multi-knopped faceted stem enclosing an elongated tear, on high conical foot

The youngest daughter of Peter the Great, Elizabeth ruled Russia from 1741 to 1762. She was a popular ruler known for her diplomatic abilities- she reconstituted the Senate; appointed the popular Aleksei Petrovich Bestuzhev-Ryumin as Vice Chancellor, and ordered not one execution in her reign.
