QIANLONG (1736-95)
Of rectangular form with similarly shaped lockplate, the narrow sides with C-scroll handles, deeply carved to the cover with a central peony roundel surrounded by lotus scroll within geometric grounds of eight bats amongst lotus and foliage, surrounded by a border of stylised key-fret, the box similarly decorated, the plain black lacquer interior with a removable drop-in tray
