Tasting Notes: In 1987 : intense, impressive ; hot singed nose ; flavour of Figs, prunes and chocolate. 'Needs time: still taut' in 1992. Five years later, two notes: an attractive luminous quality, sweet, drinking well, at Maliner's Jaboulet seminar: soft red; very fragrant finish, touch of sharpness and, later, tarry, treacly; very flavoury; with cherry-like fruit, spoiled by an astringent finish. Most recently: developing an orange rim; better flavour than nose, good length, somewhat acidic. Jan 2002 *** M.B.
