The "Scotty" to whom these photographs were dedicated was Bill McGlynn who was the Security Guard at the entrance to Universal Studios for 35 years. The photograph inscribed Sir was given to Scotty in 1980, shortly before Hitchcock's death - Scotty had asked him for a signed photograph and he had obliged but when Scotty reminded him he has just been honoured with a Knighthood, Hitchcock returned the next day with this photograph inscribed Sir.
