Lot Essay

In "Home" in Star Trek: Enterprise, we learned that T'Pol had been betrothed to a man who she did not wish to marry. In the beginning of the episode, she received a letter from her fiancé, indicating that he expected her to honor her obligation. T'Pol agreed to the arrangement in order to protect her mother. The wedding ceremony, held at her mother's home, echoed Spock's marriage ritual in "Amok Time" in Star Trek: The Original Series. T'Pol gave the book, the translated teachings of Surak, to Archer in "Two Days and Two Nights" in Star Trek: Enterprise.
